A Reminder about our 2-year anniversary special: "stay 7 nights; pay for 6" ... From October 15, 2009 to May 15, 2010. Reflections on 2009: Wow! It's been a tough year for tourism in Mexico. The streets of Puerto Vallarta, while not exactly bare, certainly show signs of opportunity for visitors! Between the economic crash and swine flu, Mexico has been squeezed hard. Add to that the negative publicity around the drug wars, and tourists have been staying away in droves. ... Which is a sad thing for Yelapa, as none of those problems have struck here. Still, it has been a great year for us. We have learned so much about running the resort in a challenging environment. Since everything is brought in by boat, simple things are sometimes complicated.
And that's not all. We've made some wonderful friends in the people who have come to stay with us. Thank you to all of you who made the year so special for us. We hope to see you again soon! ... In fact, we're getting to know quite a number of you very well, on your second and third visits.
Yoga Retreats and Weddings IMPORTANT: There are a few days open during February and March; please inquire. Weather. Sunscreen required. Powerful fans are supplied in each of the casas. Summer tropical rains are done , and the humidity has dropped dramatically. Sleeping is cool again, and we've got our warm, dry winter days!
Money Winston, the Property Dawg -- fearless and fast wiener dog par excellence -- is looking forward to more visitors and requisite pampering. The other dogs of Yelapa are envious. The sailing yacht Argo , is back in full service. Despite the rigors of maintenance and management on the property, Skipper Dave is managing at least one good sail a week. Come aboard! New, young, bilingual doctor provides services at the clinic, Centro de Salud , only 3 gates down from us. We hope that you have no need to visit him, but it's great to know he's there! Special News Flash! Our guests are giving us wonderful reports of the activities -- from fishing trips to island sight-seeing, from parasailing to cultural excursions. We're often sitting around the campfire at night, trading stories of the day. Come on down and join the Yelapa family. And ... Johnny Pollo and Jay caught a 200 kg (440 lbs.) marlin offshore a couple of weeks back -- along with a 100 kg tuna! Yelapa swam in fish for a week! |
